I am British and my husband is of Greek origin and it was important for us to have our families and close friends meet before our wedding day. We had several meetings with Vasiliki and her wedding team, to arrange the finishing touches. A church rehearsal later followed by a menu tasting, make-up and hair styling appointments and we were all set to go. Had the majority of the leg work not have been done in advance by the team at Luxury Weddings before we arrived, this week would have been much harder. Our fantastic wedding planners had sorted through all the documentation needed, organized the church ceremony, the reception venue and everything else needed in order for us to feel at ease before our wedding day.

Vasiliki organized a welcome cocktail party the night before our wedding for our family and guests to mingle and this was just what was needed to ease everyone into the wedding spirit. Kalypso Cretan Village Resort, where we had the welcoming party and where we were staying with our guests, is a fantastic place to stay if you want to have guests of all ages entertained while you are on wedding duty! Their restaurant has delicious food, local wines and every cocktail under the sun. Our family and friends really enjoyed the pre-wedding cocktail party and before we knew it, the next day, my husband and I were standing in a Greek Orthodox Church in Plakias, by the sea, before a priest and our guests, saying I do. Tirelessly, Eleni and Vasiliki organized transportation back and forth from the resort to the church for all of our guests and guided us through our wedding church ceremony step by step.

The wedding reception was a huge success. Luxury Weddings had organized a local band to play Greek music for us and also a DJ to play other music of our choice. What stands out about Vasiliki is that she really listen to your wants and needs and she did a tremendous job creating our wedding vision. She clearly have the experience and the connections to be able to organize weddings like ours. A big thank you to Vasiliki and the entire team at Luxury Wedding’s in Crete by Vasiliki for creating the perfect environment for our families to come together. They all still talk about their holiday with us and how much they loved our wedding day. We have already and will continue to recommend you to our friends who want to get married in Crete.
