Approachable, warm and diligent, these are the three words that come to mind when I think about my wedding planner, Vasiliki. Having spent several summers island hopping around Greece with my fiancé, we had decided that Crete would be an incredibly romantic destination for us to tie the knot in. Crete has always held a special place in our hearts.
However, organizing an overseas wedding ourselves seemed like a big challenge. After many late nights trawling the internet for wedding planners we came across Luxury Weddings in Crete by Vasiliki and were soon provided with exactly the right support to create our fairy tale wedding in Crete.
From the first point of contact till the day after our marriage, Vasiliki and her team took care of every single detail and met every request my fiancé and I made, while at the same time sticking to our budget. A lot of the planning in the early days took place on Skype and we were able to ask questions, make decisions and changes at any point. This meant that we actually had time to enjoy the process and each other leading up to our big day. Vasiliki helped us decide on a wedding style that would incorporate both mine and my fiancés tastes and we decided to have a symbolic wedding to celebrate our love.
Luxury Weddings gave us a huge range of venues and we decided that Kalypso Cretan Village Resort would be the best venue for us beach lovers .The resort is absolutely beautiful, has a small private beach area, a spa and restaurants, so our family members and friends were able to stay with us and enjoy a bit of a different setting to our closest beach to Taunton.
Having a symbolic wedding meant that we could design a wedding especially for us and narrowing down the theme, style and content was a huge task that we simply could not have done without our wedding planners. Vasiliki were quick to assemble a team of professionals including photographers, caterers, florists and musicians, who, between them, took care of every aspect of our wedding day. Everything ran smoothly on the day, our guests gathered on the beach and watched us exchange our vows in front of the sea. Luxury team had set up white canopies so everyone would have enough shade and we had a violinist playing music as we entered the area. We had our reception in the hotel due to windy weather ( Vasiliki always made sure to have a back-up plan) and the caterers used fresh local ingredients to create a range of traditional dishes that we knew our family members and guests would enjoy.
I cannot imagine the process of organizing an overseas wedding without Vasiliki’s help and am eternally grateful to them and their staff for their huge support, their eye for detail and planning, and their attentiveness throughout our wedding journey. We would have been lost without them and highly recommend them to anyone considering Crete to be their magical wedding destination.
