My one month wedding anniversary is coming up next week and with it, a lot of special memories of my wedding in Crete are too. First and foremost, I want to thank Vasiliki, my wedding planner, for putting their hearts and souls into mine and Steve’s wedding and for taking such good care of us. We had thousands of questions that were answered, and, like all brides, stressful moments in which they came to the rescue. Looking back now, I am very grateful I came across their company Luxury Weddings, as they have the experience to know what works and what doesn’t as well as a great eye for detail.
Steve and I wanted to have a civil wedding ceremony and Luxury Weddings guided us through the formalities making sure that all of our documentation was in order way in advance. We flew out to Crete about a week before our wedding and Luxury Weddings put us up in Kalypso Cretan Village Resort, a stunning hotel on the South Coast of Crete. It could not have been more romantic and the hotel staff went out of their way for us. We were able to have all of our guests and family members stay with us at the resort, many of whom had young kids that were thrilled to bits with the incredible beaches around them. It couldn’t have been a better setting for everyone.
We had our wedding ceremony in a nearby city hall with all of our family and friends present. Everything had been thought through carefully by Vasiliki and her team and we felt safe in their hands, knowing that they were by our side guiding us through each stage. The resort’s reception hall was laid out and decorated in blues and whites and looked absolutely stunning. Steve is an even bigger foodie than myself and we were pleased as punch with our wedding feast and cocktail party, all locally sourced by the catering staff, the homemade village wines were divine, the cheese platters and dishes like the traditional braised lamb they served us have stayed in my mind ever since.
I wish Steve and I could do it all over again because it was such a beautiful and special day thanks to Luxury Weddings .The team photographers were exceptional and gave us some stunning pieces for our wedding album both from the city hall and our reception at the resort as well as video footage of the whole day.
Vasiliki gave us the wedding of our dreams, were next to us each step of the way and we were lucky to have heard about them. Thanks to them we are celebrating our 1 month anniversary next week, wish we could it in Crete!
