Antony and I got engaged 3 years ago, he dropped down on one knee outside the Fortezza, a Venetian fortress in Rethymnon, Crete. We had talked about the possibility of getting married in Crete and luckily came across Luxury Weddings. We saw that they hosted weddings in various venues in Crete and fell in love with the pictures they sent us of Fraggokastelo, a Venetian castle on the South Coast of Crete. Vasiliki arranged for us to have a viewing of the site over Skype as we could not be in Crete until a week before our wedding and we were blown away by the beauty of the place. Over the months leading up to our wedding day we had countless Skype meetings and I appreciated that Vasiliki was always open to creative ideas to personalize our day and make it special to us.

The place is amazing! Highly recommended. We had the wedding of our dreams. Under the stars, by the sea. Kalypso Resort offers a number of activities including swimming into large beautiful swimming pools or to that small but wonderful bay surrounded by vertical rocks (fjords). If you decide to spend more days there as holidays, you can do yoga, cycling or even diving!

When we actually saw Fraggokastelo, a week before our wedding we were astounded by its natural beauty. Luxury wedding set us up along with our family and guests in a luxury hotel on the South coast so we could enjoy the stunning landscape and be close to the wedding venue. The hotel staff was attentive and kind and we were so pleased with our choice.

What sets Vasiliki and the staff of Luxury Weddings apart from other wedding planners in a nutshell are their exceptional organizational skills, their vast experience in the hospitality industry and their effective communication skills. We were able to enjoy the experience and have a wedding day with little to worry about because Vasiliki was always next to us, making sure everything was running as it should.

If we had any tips to give to couple getting married abroad for the first time it would be to listen to your wedding planners as they have the knowledge and experience of what works well.
